ENA-WA is the Washington State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to quality patient care, public safety, continuing education, nursing research and promotion of the emergency nursing profession. The organization is comprised of emergency nurses and friends of emergency nurses – including ED techs, students, and educators – residing or working in Washington State.

Our primary aims are:

  1. To promote and implement the philosophy and objectives of the Emergency Nurses Association on the state level;
  2. To provide leadership by identifying and addressing issues affecting emergency care and emergency nursing practice on the state level;
  3. To maintain liaison with State professional organizations and agencies including but not limited to:
    Washington Chapter American College of Emergency Physicians (WA-ACEP);
    Washington State Department of Health (DOH);
    Washington Board of Nursing (BON);
    Washington Center for Nursing (WCN).
  4. To monitor and advocate on state legislative issues affecting emergency care, emergency nursing practice, and public healthcare issues;
  5. To develop, maintain and monitor a statewide emergency nursing network structure to address professional issues;
  6. To provide continuing education opportunities for emergency nurses locally;
  7. To promote Quality, Safety, and Injury Prevention; and
  8. To implement all Bylaws and Standard Procedures.
