Happy Nurses Week 2025

in

As we celebrate Nurses Week 2025, we want to take a moment to honor and express our profound gratitude to the extraordinary emergency nurses in Washington who show up every day with unwavering compassion, unmatched skill, and a dedication that inspires us all.

In moments of distress and uncertainty you are the steady presence we can rely on. You are the calm in the chaos, the reassuring voice when fear takes hold, and the skilled hands helping people through their most vulnerable moments. Your commitment to saving lives and offering compassionate care, no matter the circumstances is what makes this profession so wonderful.

Thank you for your tireless efforts and your resilience. You are more than healthcare professionals, you are the givers of hope, healing, and strength to all who walk through your doors. Your selflessness and dedication are a constant source of inspiration, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.

Happy Nurses Week and thank you for being the heart of emergency care.

A Message from your 2025 President, Brian Burns

Dear Washington Emergency Nurses,

Serving as your President of the Emergency Nurses Association Washington State Council, I am honored to stand with each of you resilient, skilled, and compassionate professionals who form the backbone of emergency care in our state.

This year, our focus is clear: advocacy, education, and safety. These are not just pillars of our mission, they are promises to each other and to the future of emergency nursing.

We will continue to advocate fiercely for policies that support safe staffing, workplace violence prevention, and equitable access to care. Your voice matters, and together, we will be heard in Olympia and Washington DC.

We will invest in education, not only to elevate clinical excellence, but to empower nurses at every stage of their careers. Whether through trauma workshops, leadership development, or research engagement, we are building a future where emergency nurses are not only prepared but leading.

And above all, we will prioritize the safety and well-being of every emergency nurse. No one should come to work afraid or unsupported. We will champion environments that protect your mental health, physical safety, and professional integrity.

You are more than emergency nurses, you are patient advocates, innovators, and leaders. Together, we will shape a future where emergency nursing is not just a job, but a sustainable, empowered, and respected career.

Thank you for the vital work you do day and night, rain or shine. The Washington ENA stands with you, for you, and because of you.

With pride and solidarity,

Brian Burns, DNP, ARNP-CS, CPEN
President, Washington Council Emergency Nurses Association
